Regional Anethesia
Harbor-UCLA Medical Center Regional Anesthesia Service is dedicated to improve patient care by alleviating acute pain in the perioperative period. Perioperative regional anesthesia improves patient satisfaction and facilitates the early recovery. The service performs various upper and lower extremity peripheral nerve blocks utilizing various techniques (i.e. single and continuous nerve block, ultrasound guidance and/or nerve stimulation).
Faculty teach and train residents during their regional anesthesia rotation. Numerous opportunities are given to them to improve knowledge and technical skills while all procedures are performed under direct supervision. By the end of their rotation, residents are expected to become proficient and competent.
